JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Head of the National Directorate of Security (NDS.

Masoum Stanikzai said if Islamabad wished a stable and prosperous Afghanistan it should have stopped support to the Taliban and Daesh.

Addressing reporters in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, Stanikzai said there was need for more work to thwart the activities of armed groups.

He said armed groups have been using propaganda campaign to mislead the people and the government was working in this regard.

Referring to the policy of Pakistan, Stanikzai said the neighbouring country wanted to see a weak government in Afghanistan thus it was exporting arms, explosives and launched an organised campaign against the incumbent government here to weaken it.
