Turkmenistan reaffirm support for Afghan peace process, mega projects

KABUL in the implementation of regional development projects, a statement from Presidential Palace said on Wednesday.

The Turkmen foreign minister made the commitment during a meeting with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani here at Gul Khani Palace.

During the meeting Meredov conveyed the felicitations of the people of Turkmenistan to the government and people of Afghanistan over the successful conduct of Wolesi Jirga elections.

He reaffirmed Ashgabat support for an Afghan led and owned peace process and termed mega regional and bilateral projects vital for the stability and welfare of the people.

President Ashraf Ghani dubbed Turkmenistan great friend and partner of Afghanistan and hailed the motivation of Turkmenistan for mega regional projects.

He said the supply of Turkmenistan electricity via Pakistan and other mega connectivity projects would prove beneficial for the region.
