1,500 Sar-i-Pul families flee fresh violence to Balkh

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Fresh violence has displaced some 1,500 families from their homes in Sancharak district of northern Sar-i-Pul province to neighbouring Balkh province, residents said on Sunday.

Members of the displaced families gathered in protest at the Provincial Council office of Balkh province today and demanded immediate military operation against insurgents in their areas.
