Eid Milad-u-Nabi (SAWW) observed with religious fervour

KABUL (Pajhwok): Muslims of all ages in Afghanistan on Tuesday celebrated Eid Milad-u-Nabi (SAWW) with religious zeal and fervour.

For the faithfuls, Eid Milad-u-Nabi (SAWW) is a highly regarded religious festival as they express gratitude and thanks to Allah Almighty for blessing the universe with Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

A big gathering is held at the Shuhada-i-Salihin Masjid in the capital Kabul to celebrate the revered day. Ulema and scholars addressed the gatherings across the country, with some towns were tastefully decorated to celebrate the event in a befitting manner.

Religious programs were organized at mosques across the country. On this sacred night, Muslims say their prayers and read the Holy Quran in their homes and mosques.

Tuesday is declared a public holiday in Afghanistan to commemorate Eid Milad-u-Nabi (SAWW).

Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was born on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awal fourteen hundred years ago in the land of Macca, Saudi Arabia.

He was born an orphan and His mother also passed away when He was six years old.

After that, it was His grandfather and uncle who raised Him. It was at the age of forty that He received the first revelation and thus the religion Islam came to this world and its followers became Muslims.
