3 US soldiers killed, as many injured in Ghazni bombing

KABUL’s Resolute Support (RS) mission said in a statement.

Another three US service members and a civilian contractor were wounded in the improvised explosive device blast near Ghazni City, the RS statement said.

The wounded service members and the contractor were evacuated and were receiving medical care, the statement said.

The attack comes three days after a US Army Sgt. Leandro A.S. Jasso was killed in southwestern Nimroz province during a combat mission. Identities of the victims were not immediately released.

The Taliban Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attack. He tweeted, six US forces were killed and wounded in a powerful blast in the Shahbaz locality on the outskirts of Ghazni City. An armored tank was completely destroyed in the blast, he said.
