KABUL (Pajhwok): The Kakar Advocacy has been ranked as a Band I Law firm, for a third year in a row, in the Chambers and Partners’ 2019 Guide, the firm said in a statement on Saturday.
The company received the honor of being the only firm to be ranked Band I this year and our Managing Partner, Kawun Kakar, is the sole Band I Lawyer practicing in Afghanistan, the statement said.
The Asia-Pacific Guide described Kakar Advocates’ strengths as following.
The team's attentiveness to clients drew praise from interviewees, who report that "the Kakar Advocates team often goes above and beyond our expectations" and is "always proactive in terms of communication.”
The firm's combination of domestic and cross-border expertise impresses commentators. Clients say: "They have assembled a team of qualified national and international lawyers, giving strength to the firm."
The Guide recognizes “Mr. Kawun Kakar maintains a leading position in Afghanistan’s legal market”. Clients praise him as a "very talented" lawyer who is "patient and has enough strength to argue legal issues and convince other parties." The Guide also recognizes Mr. Thomas Kraemer, who advises on employment, IP and media-related matters, as well as dispute resolution. Clients note that he “is very polite and always provides very good legal advice.”
“We extend our immense gratitude to our clients and partners for honoring us with the opportunity to work with them and for their generous feedback,” he said.
The Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has undertaken extensive reform towards strengthening the Rule of Law in Afghanistan and its efforts to improve the legal framework and business climate for private investment.
The legal and economic reforms led the president have put a greater emphasis on the need for quality legal services in the country. We are committed not only to continue providing international standard services for growing demands in the country’s emergent sectors, but also to contributing further to reforms and strengthening the rule of law in the country.
Chambers and Partners is the most reputable legal directory worldwide, publishing seven regional guides per year that cover 185 jurisdictions. All firms are ranked as Band I, II, or III, with Band I being the highest ranking. The qualification process for ranking requires making a submission and taking part in the directory’s extensive research process, which is completely independent and puts the strongest emphasis on client feedback.
