KABUL (Pajhwok): Nine people, all men, died as two cars collided on a highway in western Herat province, police said on Thursday.
The head-on collision took place on the Islam Qala-Herat highway in Rozang area, said Herat police spokesman.
He said exact figures about the victims were not immediately known, but several people had lost their lives in the crash.
Kohsan district mayor and some engineers were said to be among the dead.
