PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Representatives from Afghanistan are set to hold talks on ways of countering the scourge of narcotics.
The 13th Senior Officials Meeting of the Triangular Initiative on drug control would take place in Islamabad on Tuesday and Wednesday, Pakistan’s capital, the state-run radio reported.
The Ministry of Narcotics Control secretary would chair the two-day meeting on finding a solution to common problem through adherence to a comprehensive approach.
Since its inception in 2007, the Triangular Initiative forum has served as a cornerstone of the regional approach to drug control.
The three countries have agreed on sharing real-time information, plans and conducting drug-interdiction operations through the Joint Planning Cell,
According to Radio Pakistan, the three sides have also agreed to establish Border Liaison Offices to effectively counter the trafficking of Afghan opiates.
