KABUL.

Led by special envoy Zalmay Khalilzad, US diplomats met Taliban negotiators in the UAE on Monday. The two sides exchanged ideas on how to find a negotiated end to hostilities.

“We have helped in the dialogue between Taliban and the US in Abu Dhabi. Let us pray that this leads to peace and ends almost three decades of suffering of the brave Afghan people,” the Pakistan prime minister said.

In a tweet, Imran Khan promised Pakistan would be doing everything within its power to further the peace process in Afghanistan.
