KABUL in central Logar province, the spy service said Monday.
The depot contained a huge amount of weapons and ammunition, read a statement from the National Directorate of Security (NDS) in Kabul.
It said the raid targeted the hideouts of Taliban commanders Omari, Ahmadyar, Mullah and Qari Safiullh on the Kabul-Logar highway and Khoshi district.
One machinegun, 3 RPG-7 rockets, five artillery shells, one Kalashnikov, six bombs, 570 kilograms of explosives, other ammunition and military vehicles were seized during the raid.
The statement said the rebels used such weapons in attacks on supply convoys and in extorting and harassing ordinary people and passengers. The exact time and date of the raid was not mentioned.
