KABUL reconciliation has arrived in China in an effort to facilitate an intra-Afghan political settlement.
Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad tweeted: “I am meeting with Chinese officials on our effort to facilitate peace in Afghanistan.” He wrote China had an important role in the process.
Earlier, in another tweet, Khalilzad said: “Unexpected flight delays prevented me from getting to Kabul yesterday. Luckily, I was able to meet Afghan NSA Hamdullah Mohib and new envoy to Pakistan Atif Mashal.”
