<p>JALALABAD (Pajhwok): US central command chief Gen. Joseph Votel has discussed security situation and other issues<a name="_GoBack" id="_GoBack"></a> with the governor of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Sunday.</p>
<p>Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Gen. Votel traveled to the provincial capital, Jalalabad, and met with Governor Hayatullah Hayat at the airport on Saturday.</p>
<p>He said governor Hayat shared security, economic, political and social situations and achievements with the top US military official.</p>
<p>The governor said efforts were underway to ensure security, prevent land grabbing, corruption and increase coordination between security and judicial organs.</p>
<p>Gen. Votel expressed his satisfaction with the security situation in Nangarhar and hailed the governor’s efforts in prevention of land grabbing and corruption.</p>
<p>Both discussed preparations for the upcoming presidential election, progress in the peace process and some other issues.</p>
