Afghan artists participate in painting competition

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Dozens of Afghan and Pakistani artists have participated in a painting contest at the University of Peshawar.

The competition -- Home away from home - 40 years of Afghan refugees in Pakistan -- featured 40 artists from the two countries.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) organised the event in collaboration with Commissionerate for Afghan Refugees and the Department of Arts and Design.

A statement said the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, in coordination with the government of Pakistan, would continue to take initiatives in 2019 for the development of Afghan refugee youth.
