FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): Five water supply projects which would benefit hundreds of families have been launched in the western Ghor province, an official said on Friday.
Mahfozullah Fakor, director of the Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department, said the water supply projects included the dug-wells, installation of solar system, construction of retaining walls, water storages with the capacity of 100 cubic meters water and others.
He said the projects completed at the cost of over 7.5 million Afghanis. Fifteen percent of the cost was shared by the residents and the remaining was offered by the UNICEF.
He said with the launch of the project 635 families in Jat Sangbar, Luqmanabad, Shaheedan, Ulya, Baidak Jalal and Hawaranur would be able to get access to clean drinking water.
Mohammad Khan, the provincial council member, was overjoyed with the implementation of drinking water projects and said: “Earlier the use of unhealthy water spread different kind of diseases among children but with the completion of these projects the issue of drinking water is resolved.”
