KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani has expressed grave concern at the use of violence against peaceful protestors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces.
Ghani tweeted: “The Afghan government has serious concerns about the violence perpetrated against peaceful protestors and civil activists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
“We believe it is the moral responsibility of every government to support civil activities that take a stand against the terrorism and extremism that plagues and threatens our region and collective security.”
Otherwise, Ghani warned, there could be long-standing negative consequences. The presidential tweet comes after Pakistani police killed senior member of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) Arman Loni.
Hours after, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi rejected a tweet shared by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani regarding violence against protesters in Pakistan.
