SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): At least three Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers and three Taliban insurgents have been killed in a Taliban attack in northern Sar-i-Pul province, an official said on Saturday.
Governor Abdul Qadir Ashna told Pajhwok Afghan News that Taliban militants stormed an ANA base in Baghavi village in the capital of Sar-i-Pul province late on Friday night.
He said that the ANA forces were heading to the base to push the Taliban back when faced with the insurgents’ ambush.
Three ANA soldiers were killed and 9 others wounded and one tank of the soldiers was also destroyed by the rebels, he said. Three Taliban fighters were also killed and 7 wounded in Afghan forces retaliator attack.
The Taliban have not yet said anything in this regard.
