KABUL leader has been detained and five militants on security operations in southern Kandahar province, a local official said on Monday .
Taliban’s head for Jaldak and Tarnak areas of Shahr-u-Safa district was arrested during an operation in the Arghistan district of Kandahar.
Kandahar police chief Gen. Tadin Khan said the insurgent commander was caught while attempting to cross the border into Pakistan.
A deputy of the Taliban commander was killed along with four other militants, the police official added. Some weapons and ammunition were also seized.
