Our stance on Afghanistan vindicated: Qureshi

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi says solid global consensus on seeking a political end to the war in Afghanistan’s position.

Pakistan believed that lasting peace in Afghanistan could be achieved through a politically-negotiated process and that there was no military solution to the conflict, he said.

Chairing the second meeting of the Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs, Qureshi said Pakistan, along with international partners, was playing its role in supporting the peace process in Afghanistan.

The Foreign Office said the council discussed a wide range of issues related to Pakistan’s foreign policy, including efforts to support peace in Afghanistan.
