PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Snowstorm once again forced the authorities to close the strategic Salang Highway on Tuesday evening, an official said.
Abdul Basir Habibi, maintenance and security in-charge of the highway, told Pajhwok Afghan News heavy snow accompanied by strong winds lashed the northern Salang highway after 6pm this evening, reducing visibility to zero.
“This was the reason the highway was closed against traffic,” he said, adding their working teams were busy shifting trapped passengers to safety.
