GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Residents of Muqor district of southern Ghazni province have blocked the Kabul-Kandahar highway for the last six days, asking the government to promote the district to a province.
Rumors recently circulated on social media indicate President Ashraf Ghani has decided to convert a number of districts into provinces.
Shahzada Asim, one of the protestors in Ghazni City, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Muqor district should be changed to a province considering its population and area.
