‘Afghan Armed Forces Day’ observed nationwide

KABUL (Pajhwok): The ‘National Day of Security Forces’ was observed throughout the country by arranging colorful events, which admired the role of armed forces on Wednesday.

In eastern Kunar province, the day was marked in a special ceremony in Khas Kunar district, in which security officials, officers, civil officials and tribal elders participated.

An Islamic scholar Maulvi Najeebullah Haqyar said the national security forces had paid huge sacrifices against terrorism and continued to offer sacrifices.

He said the entire nation strongly supported the Afghan national security forces and stood shoulder to shoulder with them.

Meanwhile, Governor Abdul Satar Mirzakwal congratulated the countrymen over observing the National Security Forces Day.

He said Taliban, but the national security forces destroyed their hideouts across the province.

Similar events were held in northern Balkh and southeastern Paktia provinces, in which security forces, government officials and youth took part.
