KABUL Abdul Ghani Baradar in the capital of Qatar.
In a statement, Taliban spokesman Zahibullah Mujahid said the Uzbek officials arrived in Doha on Sunday for talks Mullah Baradar, who is also head of Taliban’s political office.
The statement said the Uzbek minister expressed happiness at the meeting with Baradar and conveyed him respects from the Uzbek president.
The Uzbek delegation was quoted as saying: “We are ready for all-out cooperation on peace in Afghanistan and prosperity of the Afghan people. We are willing to invest in economic projects and have no intention to interfere in Afghan affairs.”
Baradar thanked the Uzbek delegation and welcomed all steps taken by the Central Asian nation toward the stability and economic development of Afghanistan.
