KABUL on peace would be the largest in the country’s contemporary history.
The four-day Loya Jirga on peace is expected to begin in capital Kabul on April 29, while Afghan politicians and Taliban representatives are also expected to meet in Doha on April 14.
Sayed IhsanTahiri, HPC spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the upcoming Consultative Loya Jirga on peace would be hugely different from the past events.
He said people from all parts of the country would take part in the jirga including districts and villages.
Tahiri said the participants of the Jirga would be divided into 24 categories including women and youths.
He further added the Consultative Loya Jirga would be also attended by media persons, players, civil society activists, artists, poets, writers and refugees.
The HPC spokesman said necessary preparations for holding the jirga had been completed and the date for the event would not change.
Earlier, president’s special envoy for regional consensus on peace, Mohammad Omar Daudzai, has said people in districts under Taliban’s control could also send their representatives to the Jirga, but if people from such areas were unable to attend the council, people from the same areas living in other places would be chosen.
