SHARANA (Pajhwok): Local security officials claim 18 Taliban insurgents have been killed in an airstrike in Nika district of southern Paktika province, but residents say those killed were civilians.
Surat Khan, a resident of Nika district, told Pajhwok Afghan News that foreign forces targeted civilians in an airstrike in Awsha village of the district on Tuesday night.
He said 18 civilians including women and children were killed in the incident.
