Pompeo condemns suicide attack on US forces

KABUL (Pajhwok): US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has condemned the suicide attack on a convoy of international forces near the Bagram base in Parwan province.

“My heartfelt prayers to the families of the Americans killed near Bagram. I condemn this disgusting terrorist act. US services members have sacrificed their lives in Afghanistan to keep us safe,” he tweeted.

No cowardly action of terror would impede US efforts to achieve peace, the secretary tweeted after four Americans were killed in Taliban’s attack on foreign forces near the largest American base in Afghanistan.

The improvised explosive device blast left another three US service members wounded, who were evacuated to a medical facility, where they are under medical care.
