JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Owner of a private radio television network in eastern Nangarhar has been released from kidnappers captivity after four months, an official said on Wednesday.
Eng. Zalmai, head of the Enakas Radio Telvision went missing four months ago from the fourth Police Distric of Jalalabad City. His driver was killed during the incident by kidnappers.
Governor Shah Mahmood Miakhel without providing more details said Eng. Zalmai has been release without any harm or injury to him.
Miakhel did not elaborated if Eng. Zalmai’s release happened against money or any other deal but added that it was a great surprised for media workers.
Referring to months delay in Eng. Zalmay’s release, Miakehl said he was kept in a remote area and haste in operation for his release might have put his life in danger.
Nasrat Rahimi, deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, confirmed Eng. Zalmai’s release during security forces operation.
Zalmai’s release sparked joy and happiness in the among media and civil society activist but at the same time gave birth to different question regarding his release as well.
