Ilham Omar Hotaki, NPC head, told an event “Accountability of the Government for Nation” here that the procurement commission assessed 763 projects worth 154 billion afghanis last fiscal year.
In the 14-day event, government’s administrations would present their performances report to the nation through media.
The National Procurement Commission (NPC) was among four administrations which offered their work reports of last fiscal year to the nation.
Hotaki said the NPC, which is headed by the President, evaluated 763 project contracts worth 153 billion afghanis during 45 weekly meetings.
The projects included infrastructure development, construction of roads, power dams and production of electricity and gas.
He further added 689 projects were approved, 45 rejected and another 29 projects returned.
He said 18 billion afghanis had been saved during last fiscal year, which he termed as full of achievements as more than 200 projects were implemented throughout the country. Hotaki said 21 contracting firms were blacklisted last fiscal year.
