Court moved for deportation of illegal Afghans

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has been moved to order deportation of illegal Afghan refugees.

The top court of Khyber Pakhtun was prayed to direct provincial and federal authorities to restrict the movements of Afghan refugees.

The petitioner demanded the Afghans doing businesses without licenses and permits be stopped from such economic activity.

Muhammad Muazzam Butt advocate, the petitioner, said millions of Afghan refugees streamed into Pakistan.

Now that an elected government was in power in their homeland, Afghan citizens should return to their country, according to the advocate.

The Afghans’ reluctance to go back to their country had led to a serious law and order situation in Pakistan, the petitioner argued.

He asked who had allowed the Afghan refugees to conduct businesses in Pakistan without any legal permits, damaging the host country’s economy and forcing the locals to live in poverty.

“Lives, security and property of our children women and others are always felt at stake and they don’t feel protected,” the petitioner prayed..

He requested the court to instruct the respondents to regulate the movement of Afghan refugees in Pakistan.
