Zaman, Mantetsky talk anti-drug efforts, Loya Jirga

KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Foreign Minister Idrees Zaman has met Russian Ambassador Alexander Mantetsky on bilateral relations and regional situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday.

The two sides exchanged views on growing relations between the two countries, joint counter-narcotics efforts and the Consultative Loya Jirga on Peace, which is due to be held soon in Kabul.

The Afghan peace process and Intra-Afghan dialogue also came up for discussion at the meeting, a statement from the ministry said.

Zaman’s visit to Romania and political consultations between the two countries, dynamics of Afghanistan acquiring SCO membership also figured at the meeting.

The International Security Conference currently ongoing in Moscow, the political situation in the country and the region were also discussed between the two sides.
