Girl killed, 6 of a family injured in Sar-i-Pul lightning

AR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): A 19-year-old girl has been killed and six members of a family have been injured by heavy rain and lightning in northern Sar-i-Pul province, an official said on Thursday.

Zabibullah Amani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News it had been raining heavily since Tuesday in the Washt village of Balkhab district.

He said due to lightning, Ruqia 19 was killed and six members of her family, including women and children, were injured.

Elsewhere, a student of the political science faculty of Parwan University was injured in a clash between students early in the morning, an eyewitness said.

Meanwhile, Civil Hospital Director Dr. Abdul Qasam Sangin confirmed to Pajhwok receiving an injured student from the scene.
