CEO supports a just, stable peace in Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Afghan foreign minister on Sunday assured the US special envoy for Afghan reconciliation process, on the government and people’s support for a just and stable peace in the country.

A statement from CEO received by Pajhwok Afghan News said that Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani and the US special envoy for the Afghan reconciliation process, Zalmai Khalizad discussed the peace process during a meeting here on Sunday.

The source said CEO and the Afghan foreign minister appreciated US efforts for establishing a just and stable peace in Afghanistan and assured the Afghan people and government were also ready for contributing to the process.

CEO also hailed international community’s consensus for Afghanistan peace process.

The statement said that Zalmai Khalilzad provided details of his recent consultations about the Afghan peace process in regional and other countries during the meeting.

Both sides in the meeting stressed over an inclusive intra-Afghan talks, international and regional support for the peace process, joint cooperation for eradication of terrorism and enduring efforts for peace in Afghanistan.
