PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen shot dead the executive head of the Mohammad Agha district of central Logar province on Saturday morning.
Mohammad Obaidi, the district’s administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the assailants gunned down Abdul Wase Hakimi on his way to office in Shekh Qala area.
He said Hakimi had been serving as executive chief of the district for the past 14 years. Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are trying to arrest the killers.
Samiullah, an eyewitness, said the gunmen opened fire on the official’s vehicle and gunned him down. The Taliban have not yet commented on the murder.
