SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): The Public Health Department of northwestern Jawzjan province has torched 5.5 tonnes of expired food items and medicine seized last month from city shops.
Public Health Director Dr. Hafizullah Jamshid, while setting alight the drugs and food, said all pharmacies and shops did not sell spurious items. Only a limited number of individuals were involvrf in the practice, he added.
All shopkeepers and pharmacists had been directed to avoid selling expired medicine and food stuff; otherwise their businesses would be closed.
