KABUL’s first One-Day International game against Scotland has been rained off without a ball bowled at the Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh.
Afghanistan were scheduled to play two ODIs against Scotland in Edinburgh in preparation for the World Cup, which will commence later in the current month.
With some senior Afghan cricketers playing the Indian Premier League, the national side will play two more matches against Ireland in the build-up to the mega event.
Cricbuzz reported the umpires allowed an early lunch, but incessant rain lasting six hours forced them to call off the the first of the two ODIs.
Quickie Hamid Hassan, who will retire after the World Cup, will go go flat-out in the upcoming games to make his mark in the biggest cricket extravaganza.
