4 children killed, 5 injured in Faryab blast

MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Four children have been killed and five others injured in a blast in northwestern Faryab province, an official said on Friday.

Police spokesman Abdul Karim Yoresh told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened at around 5:45 pm on Thursday in the Dawlatabad district.

He said the children brought their cattle in the area for grazing when the landmine exploded on them.

Aziz, the resident of locality, confirmed the incident and added it was yet to be ascertained it was a landmine blast or mortar shell.
