FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Triggered by heavy rains, flash floods have blocked the Faizabad-Takhar and Baharak-Faizabad highways in north-eastern Badakhshan province, an official said on Saturday.
Abdul Raouf Obaidi, Badakhshan public works director, told Pajhwok Afghan News their rescue team has been trying to clear the two highways for traffic as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Natural Disaster Management Department head Sayed Obaidullah Dehqan said flash floods blocked the two roads in Kishim and Raghistan districts and destroyed a number of residential homes and farm fields.
