KABUL is willing to attend peace talks Uzbekistan has offered to host, a statement said on Saturday.
During a meeting with Uzbekistan counterpart Abdul Aziz Kamilov, Rabbani said achieving peace was not an easy task and stressed participation of regional and international actors.
Rabbani said Germany had become more interested in the Afghan peace process and they appreciated their efforts.
Kamilov sought more efforts from regional countries and international community and said regional consensus on the Afghan peace was expanding.
He said Afghanistan’s security issues could be better resolved through dialogue and added Samarkand was an appropriate place for that.
“The historical background of Samarkand is important for every Muslim and we are ready to facilitate the Afghan peace talks even for two decades,” he said.
