KABUL (Pajhwok): Police forces seized nearly a thousand kilograms of explosives in the outskirts of capital Kabul, officials said Monday.
Kabul police spokesman, Faramarz Ferdaws, in a Facebook post said that the explosives were snatched during an operation of counterterrorism police personnel in the limits of ninth police district of Kabul today morning.
He said the explosives were from RDX-HMS type which were skillfully placed in 1,137 plastic bags. The materials could cause a great damage if exploded, Ferdaws said.
Kabul police said several people were arrested in connection to the issue and the detainees were currently under investigation.
