Slain policemen relatives demand justice

MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Relatives of slain policemen in northwestern Faryab province warned against revenge in similar manner if the killers family members remained at large.

Two policemen were killed by unknown gunmen on Sunday evening in Maimana, the provincial capital.

Police Spokesman Abdul Karim Youresh told Pajhwok Afghan News investigation into the incident had been launched to identify the culprits.

But relatives of the slain policemen said local uprising commander Najmuddin’s armed men who were five in number initially tortured the policemen before spraying bullets on them.

Commander Najmuddin could not be reached for comments.
