King Salman calls for unity against extremism, terror

MAKKAH (Pajhwok): The Saudi King has received the Makkah Document issued by the global conference on moderate Islam, organised by the Muslim World League (MWL).

King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), also hosted a reception for the leading Islamic scholars participating in the conference.

Addressing the audience, King Salman welcomed the scholars participating in the event and referred to Islam’s moderation as mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah.

The King expressed his pleasure to see scholars from the Muslim Ummah at this platform and put up a united front on important issues, especially with regard to confronting extremism and terrorism.

The ceremony was attended by Prince Khalid Al Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the governor of Makkah and a number of princes and senior officials.
