KABUL (Pajhwok): Four civilians were killed and four US soldiers and six Afghan civilians were wounded on Friday when a car bomb targeted a foreign forces’ convoy in the Yakatoot area of Kabul, an official said.
The blast happened in the limits of the ninth police district of the central capital at about 8:40am targeting a US forces convoy, said Nasrat Rahimi, the Ministry of Interior spokesman.
He said four civilians were killed and six others were wounded in the attack. He said NATO forces would themselves provide information about casualties to their forces.
Kabul police spokesman Faramurz Ferdous said a mini flying coach was used in the attack on the Kabul-Jalalabad road.
NATO media office in Kabul said four US troops were slightly wounded in the attack on their conovy.
The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack. Their spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said two vehicles of the foreign forces were destroyed and their 10 troops were killed in the blast.
The attack comes a day after a suicide bombing killed six civilians and wounded 16 others in front of the Marshal Qasim Fahim University in Qambar square area of Kabul city.
