LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): At least six people, including four children, were killed on Sunday when a passenger vehicle plunged into water in southern Helmand province, an official said.
Muladad Tobagar, the Greshk district administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the incident happened in the Awbashk locality of the district at around 7:00am this morning.
He said two men and four children had been killed and four women and a child wounded in the incident.
He said the victims were on their way back home from a wedding party when their vehicle plunged into water.
Mohammad Yaseen Khan, the governor’s spokesman, confirmed the incident and expressed his deep sorrowa over the loss of lives. He tasked authorities concerned with the shifting of the casualties to hospital.
