GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A person was killed and another wounded when the bomb they trying to plant in Sultan Mahmod Ghaznavi Shrine went off in southern Ghazni province on Sunday, officials said.
Ahmad Khan Sirat, Ghazni police spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News that two people this morning were trying to plant a bomb in Sultan Mahmod Ghaznavi Shrine in the capital of the province.
He said one of the persons was killed and another wounded when the bomb they were planting went off.
A second bomb was discovered and defused by police forces in the same area, he said.
Noorullah, a resident of Rawza area of Ghazni city, said that an explosion was happened in the gate of Sulta Mahmod Ghaznavi Shrine.
“After the explosion, police came and took the bodies of two people,” he said.
Ghazni police spokesman said that five Taliban militants were killed when a bomb they want to plant exploded in Andar district on Saturday.
Taliban did not comment on the regard so far.
About a month back, Shamsul Aarifin Shrine in Ghazni city was blown up and Daesh or so called Islamic State (IS) militants claimed responsibility for the attack.
