SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Taliban militants captured Qush Tepa district of northern Jawzjan province after two days of fighting with security forces, the governor said on Tuesday.
Governor Mualvi Lotfullah Azizi told Pajhwok Afghan News clashes between security forces and Taliban gunmen continued for two nights until the district fell to the rebels on Monday night at around 10pm.
The governor said there was no information about security forces protecting the district center whether they had hidden themselves in residential compounds or somewhere else.
