PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Ten Taliban militants have been killed including a recruiter in the capital of central Logar province, Pul-i-Alam, police said on Thursday.
Logar police spokesman Shahpur Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News that special police forces raided hideouts of Taliban militants in Babos and Sholak area of the provincial capital last night, killing ten militants including the group’s recruitment head Qari Mohammad.
He said the special police forces also confiscated one Kalashnikov, one Kalakos, one machinegun, one M-16 rifle, two walkies-talkies and other military equipment.
He said one vehicle and four motorcycles belonging to the Taliban were also destroyed during the operations.
A resident of Babos area, Ahmad Nabi, confirmed there were ground and air attacks on Taliban hideouts in their village last night.
He said the Taliban suffered casualties in the strikes, but he had no exact figures.
The Taliban have so far said nothing in this regard.
A day earlier, security officials said 30 militants were killed in Khoshi district of the province.
