NILI (Pajhwok): At least seven Taliban militants have been killed and five Afghan soldiers wounded in Kajran district of central Daikundi province while the warring sides claim inflicting casualties on each other in Parwan province.
Ghairat Ali Jawahari, a provincial council member of Daikundi, told Pajhwok Afghan News that five Afghan forces were wounded when a mortar landed near a security post in Ashtaran area of Kajran district on Friday evening.
He said the wounded were evacuated to Daikundi Civil Hospital and their health condition was stable.
Naqibullah Malistani, Kajran police chief confirmed the incident. But in a separate incident, he said that seven Taliban rebels were killed when a bomb the militants were trying to plant in a road went off in Ashtrak area of Kajran on Friday afternoon.
However, the Taliban did not comment yet on the regard.
Elsewhere, Afghan forces and the Taliban in Parwan province claim inflicting casualties to each other.
An official who wished to go unnamed, said 10 rebels killed or wounded in Parwan province while the Taliban claim killing seven Afghan soldiers in the province.
Alozai Ahmadi, a security official in Parwan said that four Taliban rebels were killed and six others wounded an airstrike in Wazghar area of Seyahgird district of the province.
However, Ahmadzai, a resident of the district said that Afghan forces launched an airstrike in Wazghar area last night and they heard four Taliban rebels were killed in the incident.
Taliban did not comment yet on the airstrike but said that their fighters attacked 02 Unit forces in Khalazi area of Charikar, the provincial capital and killed four soldiers.
However, Alozai Ahmadi said that Afghan forces suffered no casualties in the incident.
