4 policemen, 12 Taliban killed in Farah attack

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Four policemen and 12 Taliban have been killed during militants’ attacks on police check-posts in western Farah province, an official said on Monday.

Police Spokesman Mohibullah Mohib told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban stormed security forces check-posts in Haidar Qela and Poza Sultan areas.

He added security forces retaliated Taliban’s attacks and killed 12 assailants. Four policemen were killed and two others injured in the attack, he said.

Hafeezullah, the resident of locality, said he was unaware of Taliban’s fatalities in the attack but three policemen were killed in Haidar Qela check-post attack while four others were killed in Sultan Amir check-post attack.

It is worth mentioning that recently the Taliban attacks on security forces check-posts had surged.
