KABUL and Qatar from July 22 to August 1 to facilitate a peace process that ends the conflict in Afghanistan.
The Department of State in a statement said Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad would consult closely with the Afghan government on next steps in the peace process.
The US diplomat will talk to Afghan leaders on identifying a national negotiating team that can participate in intra-Afghan negotiations.
