Former intelligence chief’s office attacked in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): At least one person was killed and another 13 wounded in armed attack on Amrullah Saleh’s political association Rawand-i-Sabz office in capital Kabul on Sunday evening, an official said.

Nasrat Rahimi, the spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI) told Pajhwok Afghan News an explosion occurred at around 4:40pm near to the Shaheed Square area in the limits of 4th police district in Kabul City.

Meanwhile, Kabul police spokesman Firdus Faramarz told Pajhwok that the first blast took place near Amrullah Sahel’s political association’s facility Ranwand-i-Sabz  followed by armed gunshots.

He said Afghan Special Forces arrived in the area and engaged with armed militants in firefight. Saleh also served as head of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) in the past.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) spokesman confirmed receiving six bodies from the site of the blast.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blasts.
