8 civilians injured in Kandahar explosion

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): At least eight civilians were injured as a result of a motorcycle bomb blast in southern Kandahar province on Saturday, an official said.

Police spokesman Jamal Barakzai told Pajhwok Afghan News the motorcycle bomber wanted to target security forces but the device off before he could execute his plan.

Two children, four men and 2 woman were injured and evacuated to hospital for medical treatment.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.
